Valet.com features our Chaparral band collar shirt in a recent editorial trend watch page. Band collar shirts always look good and valet.com is totally right…they look particularly good right now. While working on getting this group of shirts together last season, I kept seeing the band collar style pop up on well dressed guys about town. I felt the time was finally right to bring them back into the Hamilton 1883 collection. Check out our two variations of the style here and here.
In a related/unrelated note….what really clinched it was watching Netflix late one night and seeing Dustin Hoffman wear the style in the film Kramer vs. Kramer (1979). The wardrobe in this movie looks particularly good…and besides being an excellent movie, it’s Meryl Streep’s very first Oscar win.

Seeing spots? Valet.com certainly is. In a recent editorial the author creates a terrific round up of all things dotty. Something tells me that polka dots are going to be around for a while – and something we’ll be seeing a lot more of.
The 1883 shirt (named after the West Texas town Lobo) they feature is made up in one of the more interesting shirt fabrics that we’ve ever come across. Not only does the cotton have a fantastic print on the face, but turn up the sleeves and the back reveals a different but coordinating pattern printed on the inside. Its very cool…even if we say so ourselves. We were so impressed by this unique fabric that we also decided to make it up into a western style to really show off the reverse utilizing the classic western yokes.

Launching today, the style blog Two Inch Cuffs introduces an new e-commerce aspect to their site. A cool mix of items have been culled from various sources – from clothes, shoes, accessories, even cleaning supplies. We are happy to report that some Hamilton 1883 offerings are included in their online mix…this site is a new source worth checking out.

We like these old sayings: “March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a lamb” or “a dry March and wet May, fill barns and bays with corn and hay” or better yet “new shirts in spring to catch the brass ring“. Never heard that last one? We just made it up.

Are you celebrating Go Texan Day? Got your pride on? This celebratory date was established in the 1950′s as a way to show off some Texas pride and to welcome to town The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. From the rodeo website:
