The title might be a little misleading, but Garden & Gun is a magazine that you really must add to your stack of monthly reading materials. The brand new February issue is no exception, look for it next time you pass a newsstand. Sub-titled the “Soul of the South” the brand new issue features a fantastic article about Houston: where to eat, drink, sleep, shop (Hamilton Shirts!) and what to see & do – lots of cool stuff to check out in our hometown.
Bonus! A terrific article about Houston native, Lyle Lovett.

Maybe it does takes the greatest wizard of our time to conjure up this much amazing Hamilton attention for us all in one week. Once again, Daniel Radcliffe does Houston proud by wearing another Hamilton Shirt– this time announcing the ‘BAFTA’ nominations on Tuesday in London. The ‘BAFTA Awards’ or ‘British Academy Film Awards’ are basically the U.K. equivalent of our Academy Award Oscars. Looking snappy in a John Varvatos suit, a Shipley & Halmos tie and a bespoke Hamilton shirt, Daniel looks put together and well rested after his successful gig hosting SNL in New York just two days prior.

The talented and handsome young actor took to the 40 Rock stage to deliver his opening monologue dressed by top stylist, Sam Spector, in a custom Hickey Freeman suit and a bespoke Hamilton Shirt!

Wes Anderson is back! In his first live action film since 2007, Houston’s native son has just delivered his new “Moonrise Kingdom” trailer to the world. With all his trademark flourishes in tact (perfectly framed shots, immaculately styled sets, funky Françoise Hardy tune, Bill Murray) this movie looks like it has it all. Lets just hope that “Coming Soon” means VERY soon. Can’t wait…
Bonus – A previous post from the 1883 blog about all the Houston locations used in his movie “Rushmore”: here and some cool shots of Wes Anderson’s unique personal style: here.

The style immediately sold out…but just looking at the website now, a few size mediums are suddenly available. Have at them!

Cold weather got you down? Settling in for the long winter doldrums? Well…we have something to cheer you up – SPRING SHIRTS! In this first look – Complex.com – previews our upcoming spring 2012 Hamilton 1883 look-book.
Inspired by the the town of Marfa, the shirts take their cues from West Texas style and history. Desert colors mix with vintage prints and contemporary patterns partly inspired by the book Chinati: The Vision of Donald Judd. Chinati is the name of Donald Judd’s modern art museum located in Marfa, where the dramatic Texas landscapes provide the most incredible backdrops to his stark modern sculptures in addition to work by other contemporary artists.
Check out the Chinati Foundation website here…and our new shirt collection here.
