Look at my f*cking red trousers!

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

For the past week or so I’ve been searching for images all over the internet to inspiration the future Hamilton Shirts fall/winter 12 collection. After looking at like one million websites and blogs, I was starting to think that the fashion world might be taking itself a little too seriously. Leave it to the Brits to start a blog that rejoices in the fun of clothes and dressing up in what is known here in the U.S. as “go-to-hell” pants.

Check out “Look at my f*cking red trousers” a blog I stumbled across that takes a not so serious look at the scarlet hued sartorial splendor that can cover your lower half. From the website: “Because there’s only one type of trousers you’ll be wanting to wear, and that’s RED TROUSERS. In fact – if you can’t wear red trousers you’d be better off wearing NO TROUSERS AT ALL. That’s what I say.”

The Girls of Grunge

Sunday, September 4, 2011

It seems we weren’t the only ones with a little nostalgia for 90′s rock this season. Style.com takes a look back at the Gen-X decade with a great feature called “The Girls of Grunge“. As we approach the twenty year anniversary of the decade, designers seem to be looking back to that time for inspiration, and that includes us. Bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden, not only defined the era in sound, they also defined the style.

Check out Style.com’s slideshow look at the ladies from the nineties – “The Girls of Grunge“.

The Homesick Texan Cookbook

Monday, August 22, 2011

Even though I don’t cook at home very often, I do enjoy flipping through beautiful cookbooks.

This brand new title written by the author of one of my favorite food blogs “Homesick Texan” is a hardback edition that will include 125 of the websites best recipes- and it’s sure to be fantastic. “The Homesick Texan Cookbook” by chef/writer/photographer Lisa Fain, was initially created online to share all her favorite foods that reminded her of her Texas roots after she moved away to New York City. From the books jacket:

After a fruitless search for tastes of Texas in New York City, Fain took matters into her own hands. She headed into the kitchen to cook for her friends the Tex-Mex, the chili, and the country comfort dishes that reminded her of home. From cheese enchiladas drowning in chili gravy to chicken-fried steak served with cream gravy on the side, from warm bowls of chile con queso to big pots of fiery chili made without beans, Fain re-created the wonderful tastes of Texas she’d always enjoyed at potlucks, church suppers, and backyard barbecues back home.”

Coming out September 13th, but available now as a pre-order, this is one cookbook that no Texan (or non-Texan) kitchen should be without.

Spring Kit N° 9

Monday, May 23, 2011

A new kit from Free/Man has appeared…and this latest round up of must-have items looks pretty sharp for spring. It’s a seasonal grouping of goods that look good & we are happy to report one of our Hamilton 1883 white oxfords made the cut. I really like the darker fall-like color palate, and I especially like those dark green TBS/Mark McNairy crepe sole shoes.

To find out the make/model of all the items that appear…check out the full post on the Free/Man site here.
