On This Day in 1883

Thank you to our friend and writer – James Wilson – who puts together the terrific blog Secret Forts for posting a very interesting entry that has special significance to Hamilton Shirts.

New York & bridges from Brooklyn (LOC)

His post today is about the fact that on this day back in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was first opened to the public. Having this particular landmark open on the very same year as Hamilton Shirts founding really gives the time-line of our brand a historical aspect and totally unique perspective. James mentions a few interesting facts about the bridge…that its the oldest suspension bridge in the US and that it spans the East River over 1595 feet 6 inches.  Check out the post over on Secret Forts..with some more interesting facts, along with some really fantastic vintage photos, images, and memorabilia from the event.

Happy Birthday, Brooklyn Bridge!
