Hubcap Grill

Houston Magazine just claimed that many a high powered business deal takes place over the lunch served at the The Hubcap Grill. Regardless of the crowd it attracts, this is one of the best places to find some of the finest burgers and fries in town. Everything made here is homemade, from the hand cut fries to the homemade toasted buns. The magazine highlights the Triple Bypass Burger (made with an all-beef patty, a hotdog, and chili) but my favorite has to be the Muffalletta Burger – made with a dressing mix of olives, a special mayo sauce, and swiss cheese. The Frito Pie Burger (fritos, chili, cheese, grilled onion, and jalepenos) doesn’t sound too bad either.

The Ricky Special

Perfect for picking up lunch to go – the Hubcap Grill has crowds lining up for its few seats, but on nice days you can sit outside in the outdoor area set up in the alleyway along side. Keep in mind that the place only takes cash, and that the two Hubcap locations are only open during midday lunch hours.
