Currently on view at the Houston Museum of Natural Science is a must see show called “Spirits and Headhunters: Vanishing Worlds of the Amazon“.
The Amazon region is where over 200 Indian tribes reside, and the area holds some of the last tribes that remain untouched by the outside world. The exhibit consists of examples of ceremonial regalia, objects from initiation and funeral rites, and items from shamanistic practices and ceremonies.
With over 150 masks, weapons, pottery pieces, and beautiful feathered headdresses in the exhibit – this current show gives a rare look into a relatively unseen world.
