If you looking for a special gift for the person who has everything, look no further than this unique Houston store that sells antique prints and maps. The Antiquarium is a rare place that reminds us of simple times in our modern computerized GPS world. Dealing in everything paper – military drawings, botanical illustrations, important documents, and architectural drawings, all can be found under this one roof. In business since 1990, the Cooper family has taken great care to offer these unique items and objects of beauty that have ever growing historical importance.
Always worth stopping in, this gallery always has interesting things on display to amaze and educate. We particularly like this Gray’s New Map of Texas and the Indian Territory by Frank A. Gray from 1881 (from only two years before Hamilton Shirts was founded) Philadelphia: O. W. Gray & Son. 1881. Hand-colored lithograph. 26″ x 17″. Excellent condition. $675.
And this limited edition giclee reproduction of a map with a birds eye view of Houston, by Augustus Koch, 1873. Edition of 500, 29 3/4″ x 23 1/2″. $495.
