Besieged By Treaters?

Avoid dastardly tricks this year by handing out surprising treats this upcoming Halloween. Instead of the usual candy offerings, why not give out vintage candies from the 20′s, 30′s, 40′s and 50′s? All still available from CandyFavorites.com.
Some of our favorites from the 1920′s and earlier:
- Mary Jane’s, one of the first penny candies. Mary Jane’s have been manufactured for over 100 years.
- BB Bats, vitually impossible to find, available here in Molasses, Banana, Chocolate, and Strawberry.
- Black Jack Chewing Gum, America’s first flavored gum. Licorice flavor.
- Dum Dum Lollipops, 12 different flavors- including “Mystery” flavor!
- Kits, like the BB Bats..available here in Molasses, Banana, Chocolate, and Strawberry.
- Squirrel Nut Zippers, since 1905 and reintroduced in 2004.
- Necco Wafers, a true retro classic. One of America’s oldest candies.
- Bit-O-Honey, continually manufactured since 1924.
From the 1930′s:
- Chick-O-Stick’s, featuring the Lone Star of Texas logo since 1938!
- Mallo Cups, marshmallow creme cups covered by chocolate and coconut topping.
- Valomilk’s “When it runs down your chin, you know its a Valomilk!”
From the 1950′s:
- Black Taffy, officially not allowed to use the “Black Jack Taffy” name- this treat is made with the exact same formula.
- Root Beer Barrels, a classic sarsaparilla flavored hard candy.
- Lotza Fizz “pop in your mouth, taste the fizz”.

What a great idea (and a great excuse to have bit o honeys and root beer barrels around the house!!!)
Chik O Sticks- an additional reason why Avalon Diner is magnificent! Yum!
