Homesick Texan

How many times have you eaten a particular dish that immediately transports you to another time and place? There is a fantastic recipe blog that does just that…titled Homesick Texan. Written by the charming Lisa Fain, the blog is part recipes and part memoir, where Lisa writes stories of growing up in Texas and now her life as a New Yorker. Cited by the Times of London as one of the top 50 food blogs, it looks like the author is very wisely turning her blog entries into a cookbook. This Texas ex-pat carefully recreates the food that she loves so much, like BBQ, Tex Mex, and southern specialties, with beautiful photography that she also handles by herself. I’ve included a link to her post on Chile con Queso, where she talks about her love of velveeta, but thinks to herself there might be a better way…
