San Antonio based artist Leonardo Drew is currently showing twenty years of his work through August 1st at the Blaffer Gallery here at the University of Houston.  His mostly large scale sculptures and works on paper represent such themes as birth, life, death, decay, and regeneration.  Using such diverse materials such as rope, wood, leather hides, and rust, his work reflects the eternal cycle of the nature of our very existence.  Whoa.  There is a free artists talk coming up at the gallery on June 24th from 6:30-8:00pm with a discussion between exhibition curator Claudia Schmukli and the artist himself.
