Take Ivy

There suddenly seems to be a lot of interest in this very rare Japanese book about Ivy League style called ‘Take Ivy’ by T.Hayashida.  Very sought after by the fashion industry,  many designers and editors use its scant 130 pages as a great source of inspiration.  Photographed in the 1960′s all over the college campuses of the northeast,  it captures the styles and fashions of what the guys were wearing from a Japanese perspective.  Next to the Official Preppy Handbook,  it is a real bible of prep style.  The book is so highly sought after that copies are often sold for as high as $2000 (!) and above.  Here are a few images from the Hamilton Shirts copy; some of our favorite pages scanned for you below.
